Urban Scottish, the retail brand of Duratex Group, is home to soigné collection of shirts, boxers, pyjama & masks for the next-generation fashion-lovers and fashionistas. Our upscale line of casual and semi-formal shirts promises to add a dash of color and charisma to the wardrobe of youngsters and adults. From our humble beginnings as the retail brand under the renowned Duratex Group, we have flourished to create an identity of our own.
The name, ‘Urban Scottish’, came to be, as the founders of the brand, 2 brothers, were leisurely walking down a lively shopping street in Paris, debating and brainstorming for a brand name when they came across a brand named “Jodhpur”. The brand was named after an Indian city but was established in a foreign land. One thing led to another and the first name to strike was ‘Bombay Scottish’. Since they wanted to create a new-age brand catering to a diverse age-group, they took ‘Scottish’ and decided to add the term, ‘Urban’ to it. Thus, the birth of Urban Scottish.
Journey of Urban Scottish - The Brand
Duratex, established in 1980, is the brainchild of Mr. Durgaprasad Agarwal. Within a few years, it grew into one of the most preeminent garment and textile manufacturing companies in the world. Owing to the exceptional competency in crafting woven shirting’s and ready-to-wear apparels, Duratex never had to turn back. Relentless maintenance of the highest standards of quality and consistency has helped the company deliver the best possible product. Trust, innovation and impeccable services are synonymous with Duratex.
In a very limited period of time, Duratex managed to achieve a stellar reputation worldwide. The global appeal gave impetus to the company for further expanding its operations, leading to the introduction of the Duratex Group of companies.
At present, the Group owns 5 state-of-the-art manufacturing units equipped with advanced machineries. The units are capable of producing fine fabrics and garments in voluminous amounts. Their unwavering effort to produce high-quality fabrics have helped them strengthen their presence in both domestic and international markets.
In tune with their aim of rapid business growth and finding new opportunities, they updated their Fabric plant in 2015-16. The plant is now equipped with avant-garde Dornier Airjet looms and Benninger Direct Warping and Sizing units. Moreover, their Garment plant was upgraded and enlarged in early 2016 to satisfy the requirements of their existing and ever-increasing clientele.
Further expansion plans are in the pipeline and they hope that in the coming 2 years, they will be able to enhance the capacity of their current product line and add more products to it, such as Bottoms.
Stepping into the world of online retail space was one of their most daring initiatives. They succeeded in their quest by successfully launching their first e-commerce brand under Duratex Retail – Urban Scottish.
The introduction of this new-age fashion brand in early 2017, marked an exciting milestone for the Duratex Group.
With each upcoming generation and transfer of management powers, the Duratex Group underwent massive changes and growth. Every new addition made the Group stronger and they were able to capture a lion’s share in the textile, garment and online commerce market. All of this contributed to the Group’s building of a thriving empire. Duratex Group is continuing its long legacy of delivering top-notch quality apparels at the most affordable prices, via Urban Scottish.
As an online retail brand under Duratex Retail, Urban Scottish is supported and backed by the rich history and experience of the Duratex Group. Over the years, Duratex has worked with several different brands and gathered enough intel on the working of diverse garment industries. Thanks to the Group’s exceptional knowledge and hands-on experience in fabrics and design, we stand apart from our competition.
At the helm of Urban Scottish operations is Mr. Nikhil Agarwal who has been ably guided by Mr. Vikas Agarwal. The management team is assisted by an efficient workforce consisting of Administration, Marketing, Production and proficient Technical Consultants.
